Tanniru Krishna Murthy  and Sitaravamma Foundation
Shri Tanniru  Krishnamurthy  and  Smt  Sitaravamma  were the parents of the founders of
the  above  foundation. Both  Shri  Tanniru  Krishnamurthy  and  Smt  Sitaravamma  were
active  participants  in the Freedom  Struggle  of our country. Shri Tanniru Krishnamurthy
S/o  Shri   Tanniru  Venkata  Narsimham,   R/o   Tamididapadu   Village,  Bapatla  Taluq,
Guntur  District,  Andhra  Pradesh.  He  was  an   agriculturist  during   his   time. he was
married to Shri Sitaravamma during the year 1930.  
Tanniru Krishna Murthy Foundation Formed by the Members of Tanniru Family with a desire to fulfill the Dreams of their Elders rigorous imprisonment. His  conviction  details  are  conviet  No:  1282  at  the Central jail,
Rajamundry.  Shri Tanniru Krishnamurthy  was  convicted  under  the  section  143 & 117
of the Indian Penal code. He was actually convicted on the 14th day of  June  1930.  After
that he was admitted to Rajamundry Jail on 15th  day of June 1930. The criminal case no:
83/30 of sub-divisional registrar, Chirala. Later on he was transferred to Tiruchirapally jail
on 4th day July of 1930. This information has been obtained from the person employed in
the Secretariat of Andhra pradesh 30 years back.

Smt Tanniru Sitaravamma followed the footsteps of her Husband throughout her life. She
was arrested  many time and was imprisoned. During  those  days  woman  activists  were
taken  to  far  off  places and  were  left  there.  The  in  Brother  in  laws  of   Smt Tanniru
Sitaravamma  used to help  her  in  returning  to  her places. She too suffered great pains
along with her husband in those  days.  During  the  early stages of her marriage she was
alone as Shri Tanniru  Krishnamurthy  was arrested in the year 1930 when their marriage
happened in the same year.

Shri Tanniru Krishnamurthy, after  completion of his graduation  as  per  the  call given by
Shri Gandhiji not to join in the Governrment  Service,  He  joined as  an  agent  in  Andhra
Insurance Company, and became  Branch  manager  to  the  Guntur  District  and Nellore
District  of  Andhra  Insurance  Company.  Shri  Tanniru  Krishnamurthy is a man of great
Integrity,  honesty  and  man  of high  self-respect.     During  on e year  when  Insurance
Business was not up to the mark the  Head-Office  has  adversely  commented  him  then
immediately  Shri   Tanniru   Krishnamurthy   has  submitted  his  resignation   as  Branch
Manager. Later on the  Head-Office has  regretted  and  withdrawn  their  comments  and
persuaded   Shri  Tanniru  Krishnamurthy to withdraw hi resignation letter. Since then the
people  at  Head-Office  of Andhra Insurance Company use to comment that Shri Tanniru
Krishnamurthy   comes   to  the  office  with  a  resignation  letter  in  his  pocket.      After
nationalization  he  was  made  Branch  Manager  LIC  to  Guntur  District  and  was  later
transferred to  Eluru. After completing 2 years of Service in Eluru, he  died  due  to  Heat
attack in the month of November 1962, while in service.

Since the death of  Shri Tanniru  Krishnamurthy in 1992,  Smt  Tanniru  Sitaravamma was
greatly instrumental  in  keeping  the  family bound together with 9 children spread across
two continents of Inia and United States  of America.  Even  though she did not attend the
college  herself,   she   has   been   the  pillar  of  support  in  achieving  high  educational
achievements for her children and Grandchildren.

Shri Tanniru Krisknamurthy was  a  strong  believer  in  Anti  dowry  and  widow  marriage
system and infact performed a widow marriage himself. All through the life he is dedicated
to his work and led a very high degree of disciplined and simple life. He  being the  eldest
son performed the marriages of his brothers without taking dowry, as he lost his  father in
the young age. He bought up his brother’s son when the boy lost his father at the  young
age. He  got  him educated to B Tech & M Tech at  I.I.T   Kharagpur  and  also  paid  him
airfare when  he  got  a  Scholarship  to  do his PHd. In  East Germany. Dr T V N Rao our
cousin is the eldest of us in sons died at the young age due to sever heart stroke. During
that time  he  was  professor  in  IT  in  Baneras  University.  Shri  Tanniru  Krisknamurthy
performed his two elder daughters marriages during his lifetime but could not see any of
his son’s  marriage.  The  eldest  son  of  Shri Tanniru  Krisknamurthy,   Dr  T R Rao has
donated  Rs  10  Lakhs to Majeti  Guravayya  High School.  Guntur   for  construction   of  
Second floor  ( 1995-96)  and it  is  named  in  the   remembrance  of our father as   Shri  
Tanniru Krisknamurthy Block.  Late Dr T V N Rao  and  Dr  T R Rao  and T V N Rao  has
done their schooling in the same Majeti Guravayya School, Guntur.

The Children of  Shri  Tanniru  Krishnamurthy  and  Smt  Sitaravamma  have come along
together to establish this Education and Charitable foundation in memory of their parents
after the demise of their mother  Smt Sitaravamma in the Year 2002.   
Shir Tanniru Krishnamurthy  was  a  
graduate       from   the      Madras  
University     and  was   the  eldest  
son  of  his  father.  He  was  born  
in   the   year  1910  and    passed
away in the year 1962. At the time
of his death he was in service  as  
Branch Manager  of Eluru  Branch
to the   Life  Insurance Corporation  
of  India.  He   has   4   sons   and   
5   daughters.  Smt Sitaravamma
died during the year 2002 at the
age of 87.

During  the   British  regime  in  the  
Year        1930       Shri     Tanniru
Krishnamurthy        joined          the
Independence  movement     under  
the  Leadership of   Shri    Gandhiji.
Immediately after his joining the free
-dom struggle he has been arrested
and  was  imprisoned  for  one-year
