(Sub: Scholarships for financially under privileged students )
TK&S foundation announces their scholarship scheme for
2008-2009, starting from First October 2008 for all Indian
universities and institutes except for the following given below
1. Indian Institute of sciences, Bangalore, Calcutta , Madras ,
Bombay universities
2. All Institute of Managements
3. All universities/Institutes/Colleges managed by capitation fees
4. All privately managed Institutes/Colleges
5. JNU, Delhi

Please follow the following procedure to apply for the scholarship
grant
1. All institutes to send only one list on the letter head of the
institute which should state to which university it is affiliated too.
They should give their letter number for reference and the letter
head should contain their full postal address with pin code as well
as principals name on the letter head or below the Signature. Any
application not received on the letter head with the required
details will be rejected.
2. We are expecting only two pages from each institute their
covering letter and the list of students they are recommending for
scholarship in our Pro forma format attached below, all columns
needed to be fulfilled. Any missing details in Pro forma will result in
rejection of the entire list.
3. In view of large number of applications we received the
foundation has decided not to provide scholarship to students who
are already receiving scholarship from other sources, please make
sure to look into this before recommending the students also note
if any applications for other scholarships is pending for a student
please make sure to mention it in the pro forma clearly. The student
scholarship will be decided only after knowing the results of their
other applications.
4. While filling the occupation of parents in the pro forma just
writing profession like farmer is not enough the university should
ascertain students parents yearly income by verifying the parents
income or land holding from local panchyat and only financially poor
students need to be recommended for the scholarship.
5. Applications can be sent from October 1st 2008, no need to
attach any other certificates, merit lists, or photographs of students
along with the application. Amount of scholarship recommended is
to be clearly mentioned and cannot be left blank.
6. The list of students who are being considered for scholarship
will be put in our website from Jan 1st 2009, without mentioning the
scholarship amount. On seeing their names the students should
send a receipt as given in Application A, duly signed on revenue
stamp with a self addressed cover with a Rs 5/- stamp. The
scholarship amount will be sent by crossed cheques to students
address. Students should have a bank account to cash the
cheques. In case he does not have a account he can request the
cheques to be sent on his parents name in which case both student
and parent need to sign the receipt with their names in block
letters below their signature. Failure to comply with this
requirements the student will not get the scholarship.
7. In case the institutes desires that the cheques to students may
be sent to head of the institute, and they in turn hand over the
cheques to the students and collect receipts and dispatch the
same to foundation, we are we are willing to do that. The receipt
should come to us within 15 days from the date of dispatch of the
cheques. The institutes are free to write to us if there are better
ways of giving scholarships. We will examine and found suitable will
implement from next academic year.
8. The scholarship amount granted to each student will be entered
in our website by march 31st 2009.
9. The foundation also decided not to grant scholarship for
students whose yearly fee is above Rs 40000/ - or below Rs 1500/-.
So institutes need to take this into account while recommending
the students. The scholarship is given for students studying ig
graduate level and above. Ni scholarships are given for students
studying in schools, i.e upto 12th class.
